Proactive Design

Muslim Television Ahmadiyya 2.0

I designed the original MTA app a few years prior, but around late 2013 we had gathered enough data on app usage to warrant a redesign. I examined the changing App ecosystem on iOS and identified emerging trends, several of which Apple later went on to standardize in the iOS7 SDK. My main focus was to eliminate the chrome, and let users engage directly with the content. The app was design to be quick, and cater to the user. After the redesign, we have received a lot of positive feedback from users.

Localized Schedules

Our viewership is global across every time zone. For many of them, our app is their only access to the channel, so we designed an intuitive schedule view that updates to their language, their time zone, and can remind them when their favorite program is on the air.

Details to Share

Users can view descriptions of programs, view video on demand, and even share programs with friends through the use of gestures.

Live Streaming

The app brings your live streaming in multiple languages. You can see what’s on now, coming up next, and project the video to Google Chrome Cast or Apple Airplay.

Samsung Smart TV

Our team later moved on to develop a native streaming app for the Samsung Smart TV platform. The team designed and developed a simple smooth streaming enabled app that allowed Samsung owner to watch MTA without the need of a set top box or satellite dish.
